Through instructor Brooke Allison, the group had shared the love of pastel for many years and a pastel society was a natural outgrowth.
When the word spread about the formation of our group, artists joined from throughout the Tampa Bay area, including Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties. To date, there are 50 plus members in the PSTB. We are a diverse, talented group, some members being professional artists while others have just discovered the pastel medium.

Painters are invited to paint on the grounds and the environs near the Fenway Hotel in Dunedin on the third Thursday of the months of February (20th), March (20) and April (17) from 9am onwards. Members must register with Bill Parker onsite or in advance (bparker@parkerandpartners.com). On April 17 there will be a show of work created on and over the previous painting days and at 1:00pm members of the Fenway organization will judge all entries. Entries may be in any medium, may include final painting completed onsite or started onsite and completed in the studio, or sketchbook works. Paintings can be framed or unframed. Paintings will be displayed for judging on entrant's personal easels and ribbons will be awarded to the top three pastel works. The Fenway will select a "best in show" and award a prize they are providing. No ribbons will be awarded to non-pastel works although the Fenway may choose a non-pastel work for its winner.
